Fractured Silence

In Fractured Silence, Besher Koushaji explores the dissonance between the inner self and the external world. The fragmented face — divided into vertical shards of color and texture — reflects the tension between identity and concealment. The muted palette of rose, grey, and turquoise conveys both fragility and depth, evoking the quiet melancholy of self-reflection.

Koushani’s composition dismantles the portrait tradition, transforming the human figure into a psychological landscape — one that speaks of memory, loss, and the search for wholeness amid fragmentation.
