Reflections Over Silence

In Reflections Over Silence, Besher Koushaji deconstructs the female form into refracted shards of identity and memory. The figure, seated with a cup suspended mid-gesture, emerges through layers of transparent strokes — as though seen through shattered glass or remembered through time’s distortion. The muted turquoise haze and ochre tones soften the dissonance, suggesting both distance and intimacy. Her gaze is fractured yet resilient, confronting the viewer from behind invisible barriers. It is a portrait of presence divided — the soul observed through the prism of displacement.
